A Swingin' Christmas with The Toronto All-Star Big Band

What? "The fabulous vocal group TABB Five recreates seasonal favourites from the Golden Age of Swing"

When? Saturday December 13; 8pm

Where? Milton Centre for the Arts (1010 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because it's much more than a Christmas show.

 

Escarpment Walk 

What? Meet for a walk in one of Conservation Halton's parks.

When? Saturday December 13; 930am to 11am

Where? Meet at St George's Church (7051 Guelph Line, Milton ON)

Why? Because nature is refreshing.

 

Winter on the Trails

What? Horse drawn wagon rides through the forest to the Falls, cozy open air fire, hot chocolate, chickadees, craft corner, bird of prey demonstration

When? Saturday December 13; 10am to 4pm

Where? Hilton Falls (4985 Campbellville Road, Milton ON)

Why? Because there's snow on the ground, the sun is shining, and it's supposed to be not-too-cold on Saturday.

 

Christmas on the Rails

What? "Ride into the holiday season at Halton Country Radial Railway Museum."

When? Saturday December 13; 1pm to 8pm

Where? Halton County Radial Railway (13629 Guelph Line, Milton ON)

Why? Because "there's nothing like riding the vintage streetcars through the woods with snow on the trees while singing Christmas carols."

 

Season of the Snowflake

What? Rent a pair of snowshoes and explore the landscape with a guided hike or tour arond on your own.

When? Saturday December 13 and Sunday December 14; 10am to 5pm

Where? Crawford Lake (2596 Britannia Road West Campbellville, ON)

Why? Because I still want to learn how to snowshoe. 


Visit with Santa

What? Santa will be visiting with children throughout the barn.

When? Saturday December 13; 10am to 4pm

Where? Springridge Farm (7256 Bell School Line Milton, ON)

Why? Because it's better to see Santa on the farm than in the mall. 

 

Launch of Holiday Light Show

What? Crafts for kids to make, face painting, hot chocolate, tree decorating, light show igniting. No cost to participate by those attending are asked to bring food item or toy to donate to Salvation Army.

When? Saturday December 13; 430pm

Where? Kelly Esselmont (195 Bell Street Milton, ON)

Why? Because it brings the neighborhood together. 

 

Children's Craft Activities

What? Decorate a gingerbread man and decorate a glass ball ornament.

When? Saturday December 13 and Sunday December 14; 10am to 4pm

Where? Springridge Farm (7256 Bell School Line Milton, ON)

Why? Because this is the last weekend of 2014 that this activity is offered. 

 

Elvis: Wonderful World of Christmas

What? "Milton's own Steve Michaels performs an evening of the King's greatest Christmas carols, songs of inspiration and classic hits."

When? Sunday December 14; 730pm

Where? Milton Centre for the Arts (1010 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because they'll "have a blue Christmas without you."

 

Miracle on Main Street

What? Toy Drive fundraiser to "promote the spirit of giving among all faiths." Those attending are asked to bring a donation of a new unwrapped toy that will go to either the Milton Salvation Army, Halton Women's Place, or young patients at the Hospital for Sick Children and McMaster Children's Hospital.

When? Monday December 15; 6am to 9am

Where? Outside of Troy's Diner (295 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because "sickness and poverty do not discriminate - neither should the spirit of giving."

What? Free horse-drawn wagon rides, holiday music performed by local choir, Beaver Tails food truck, extended-hours shopping.

Where? Throughout downtown Milton (meet at Knox Church 170 Main St. E Milton, ON)

Why? Because this is a once-in-a-year experience. 

 

Colm Wilkinson: Broadway, Christmas and Beyond

What? "One of the finest singers of popular song takes to the stage."

When? Friday December 5; 8pm

Where? Milton Centre for the Arts (1010 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because he was on Broadway.

 

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

What? "A hilariously interactive family show that all ages enjoy" presented by Brightside Players Inc

When? Friday December 5; 730pm to 930pm

Where? Milton Centre for the Arts (1010 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because we need to find out if love's true kiss can save the day.

Why? Because of the relaxed family atmosphere. 


Vigil to Mark 25th Anniversary of Montreal Massacre

What? Candlelight vigil organized by Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton

When? Saturday December 6; 6pm to 7pm

Where? St. Paul’s United Church (123 Main St E, Milton, ON) 

Why? Because we should honour all women - past, present, and future - who have experienced, survived, or resisted violence.  

 

Winterlude: A Gift of Music

What? Milton Philharmonic Orchestra is holding its debut concert

When? Sunday December 7; Silent auction starts at 230pm but concert starts at 3pm

Where? St. Paul’s United Church (123 Main St E, Milton, ON) 

Why? Because I bet it'll be sensational.
