Why? Because this is a groundbreaking depiction of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child literally growing up on screen (filmed over the span of 12 years).

Why? Because there's just something about music that is live.

 

Family Literacy Day

What? Rise n’ Shine (a program of stories, songs, dance and rhymes) 

When? Saturday January 24; 945am and 1030am

Where? Milton Public Library - Main Branch (1010 Main St. E, Milton ON)

Why? Because this day also includes scavenger hunts and craft stations.

 

Season of the Snowflake

What? Tours of reconstructed Iroquoian village and longhouses,newly furnished (and heated) Deer Clan longhouse, snow shoe rentals

When? Saturday January 24 and Sunday January 25; 10am to 4pm

Where? Crawford Lake (2596 Britannia Road West Campbellville, ON)

Why?  Because it's a great way to explore our heritage. 

 

Winter Days in the Country 

What? Enjoy the thrill of a brisk winter sleigh ride followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows around a campfire

When? Saturday January 24 and Sunday January 25; 10am to 4pm

Where? Mountsberg (2259 Milburough Line, Campbellville ON)

Why? Because nature is refreshing.

Why? Because this is a movie of firsts, breaking several cultural barriers.

 

Family Literacy Day

What? Andrew Larsen appearance, author of In The Tree House and the Charlie books

Where? Milton Public Library - Main Branch (1010 Main St. E, Milton ON)

Why? Because Mr. Larsen will show families how to make their own books, filled with stories and illustrations.

What? Love Is Strange

Why? Because this is a movie about love.

What? Show Stopper

Why? Because this is the rise and fall of self-made mogul Garth Drabinsky.

 

Sunset Snowshoe Hike: Family

What? A family-friendly introduction into snowshoeing, staff take participants along the trail to look for wildlife tracks and signs,play games as the sun sets over the winter landscape, enjoy campfire afterwards

When? Saturday January 24; 4pm to 6pm

Why? Because I still want to learn how to snowshoe. 


Owl Prowl Family

What? A hike through the crisp winter night to search for owls and a 'nose to beak' visit with Mountsberg's resident raptors

Why? Because this is an experience that is not easily forgotten.

 

Milton Film Festival Gala and #5

What? The Grand Seduction

When? Saturday January 24; 8pm

Where? Mattamy Theatre, Milton Centre for the Arts (1010 Main St E, Milton ON)

Why? Because in addition to a grand film, your ticket also includes a grand gala catered by Lunchbox Cafe

 

Sunset Snowshoe Hike: Adult

What? Your guide will lead you on a snowshoe hike through the beautiful landscape and the evening will end fireside

When? Saturday January 24; 7pm to 9pm

Why? Because this is a great way to "discover the magic of winter at night."
